He Thinketh Upon Me
Psalm 40:17

By Brother Johnny Campbell B.A.D.F.

Psalms 40:17 (KJV) But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

I love this verse because,  like David, I am poor and needy.  Yet, the Lord "thinketh upon me!"  I get the "warm and fuzzies" even thinking about this verse.  Just to think that  that somebody is thinking about me!

Oh, like you;  So many have forgotten you and me.  They said that they would never forget us.  But after you're gone for a while, they not only forget you, but they never ever think about you.

Now, God is not that way!  Remember, God was thinking about Job when he said to Satan,  "have you considered  my servant Job?"  So, God had to have Job on His mind.

Now, I want you, my brothers and sisters, to think about me for the good, but I especially want Jesus Christ to think about me as I labor for Him.

I leaned this:  Your friends will never think bad of you, and your enemies will never think good of you.

I want Him to be proud of me, and think upon me.

Here are some ways that I want Him to think about me:

1. I want Him to think on me as a WORKER
(1 Corinthians 3:9)

1 Corinthians 3:9 (KJV) For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

a. The laborers are few - Matthew 9:37
b. The labor is not in vain - 1Corinthians 18:58
c. The labor will be rewarded - Galatians 6:9

2. I want Him to think on me as a WARRIOR
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (KJV) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Now,  I always liked to fight.  Sometimes I don't like being a
defenseless sheep.  I want to be a bull, and gore someone.  I would like to hurt those that hurt me, but the Holy Ghost says, "Johnny, that's not Christ like.  Fight the good fight."  So, I have do these:

a. I want to fight for the right things - Ephesians 6:12
b. I want to fight the right way - 2 Corinthians 10:4

3. I want Him to think on me as a WITNESS
Isaiah 43:10

Isaiah 43:10 (KJV) Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

a.  I want to witness for HIM everywhere I travel. - Acts 1:8

4. I want Him to think on me as a WORSHIPPER
John 4:24

John 4:24 (KJV) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Oh,  I love to worship Him!  Even in those cold, dead icebox
Churches.  I don't have to be pumped up by singing.  I worship because I know He's thinking about me.

5. I want HIM to think on me as a Winner
Philippians 3:7-8

Philippians 3:7-8 (KJV) But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Yes, God knows I am after the PRIZE -  Philippians 3:14
Yes, God knows I am after His PERSON - 1 John 3

When I was young there was a popular song  that I thought was written just for me called, "Born To :Lose."  Believer me, I was a loser to everyone that knew me.  But, on  September 22,1968, this loser became a winner, because I am on the winning side because of
JESUS CHRIST.
