The Gospel Rooster
Luke 22:60-62

by Evangelist Johnny Campbell B.A.D.F

I promise you that he isn't a chicken like we have in our pulpits today!

Luke 22:60-62 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew. And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.

The reason preachers love to eat chicken is because it was a rooster who told on Peter! Amen? So, preachers have been trying to get even with chickens ever since. Now they have eaten so many chickens. That's why they sing "I'll fly away, Oh Glory!"

Number one: He was not a Pentecostal. He didn't need an interpreter. If a hen tried to crow we rung her stinking neck, and ate her. Remember that, Joyce Meyer and Gloria Copeland!

A JESUS rooster is a fighting rooster that keeps his spurs sharp. He has preached the same message over and over. And, His message is still read by millions .today! I believe he RULED his roost.

(1) He did what he could - This Rooster Crowed

He did not do what he could NOT do. He didn't try to bark, sing like a canary, or talk like a parrot! I believe that every time Peter heard a rooster crow, he thought about the hot sermon that convicted his soul to repentance. Every man has his calling. Some are Pastors and some are Evangelists. An evangelist is a man that is too sorry to pastor a Church! Ha Ha!

(2) His job was not considered important by the World (other strutting roosters).

They didn't ruffle his feathers.

His crowing is NOT highly esteemed by the world.
His crowning was common (but didn't stop him).
His crowning seemed foolish (1 Corinthians 1:16-18)

(3) He was not ashamed (Romans 1:16)

He has crowed before.

All his crowing didn't embarrass him.
His crowing didn't make him want to quit because just one person heard him (small ministry).
Hey! God doesn't have any small preachers, or small churches!

(4) He was Faithful He crowed at a given time regardless of who listened.

He crowed whether he felt like it or not.
He crowed rain or shine.
He crowed in season or out of season (2 Timothy 4:2)

(5) He was not popular at all - WHY???

Because he woke sleeping folks up ( Beautiful dreamer)

(6) He never got discouraged...

Even if his old Hen griped, or the other roosters tried to stop him, he didn't look for encouragement, never talked to the other roosters about what to preach. He never had to say, "Hey, give me a message!" He never read "Chicken Soup For The Soul."

His crowing was a lonely job

(7) He did his job well...

Because he preached what, where, and to whom God wanted him to preach.

He crowed at the right time, and Peter heard him.
Nobody had to feed him a hand full of corn (deputation).
He had to scratch for all that he could get.
He didn't run from house to house saying, "I can't preach for chicken feed."

Strange preachers; I have met some stranger than these in our churches:

Baalam's Ass - Numbers 22:28
Elijah's Ravens - 1 Kings 17:6
The Rich Man's Dogs - Luke 16:21
Herod's Worms - Acts 12:23
Noah's Dove - Genesis 8:11
John the Baptist was strange to this world: Strange Message, Strange Pulpit Dress
