SHAME ON THE DEVIL???

"Shame on the Devil!" I hear this all the time in meetings!
After a certain amount of money is raised, someone gets saved, or if someone comes
back into the fellowship: Shame on the Devil!.
Now I want you to know that I hate the devil and ALL of his works that he has done
to God's people, and to all of God's work. But I'd like to say that he is doing his job!
It's us saved folks who aren't doing our jobs. So in reality, it's "SHAME
ON US!"
The Preachers, Deacons, Sunday School teachers, and church folks in general are not doing what we are supposed to be doing.
Please open your Bibles to the book of First Corinthians, and lets compare ourselves
to the Corinthians, and see that we have no right to say "Shame on the devil," when every preacher needs to thunder
out to his people, "SHAME ON YOU!!"
SHAME ON YOU THAT REJECTS GODS MAN
(1 Corinthians 4:14-16)
I write not these
things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
(15) For
though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have
ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have
begotten you through the gospel. (16)
Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me. - 1 Corinthians 4:14-16 |
The Apostle Paul here is saying, "I didn't write this to shame you, but if you don't follow the man of God, it is a shame to you!" And I say A HEARTY AMEN. Now I am talking about a real preacher whom God has called, who loves Christ, and hates sin! If you don't follow that kind of man it's "SHAME ON YOU!" You say, Brother Johnny, "I don't need a preacher to tell me what I should do." Well sir, if your saved, you're a SHAME and a disgrace to the church of the living God!
Look at what the Lord said through the prophet Jeremiah:
And I will give you pastors according to my own heart, and
they shall feed you with knowledge and doctrine. - Jeremiah 3:15
God says, "I gave you pastors from my heart, to feed you with the Gospel, so you can have understanding.
Now if you don't listen to a good Baptist Preacher, then you're surely listening
to the devil! So, "SHAME ON YOU!"
SHAME ON YOU THAT TAKES
A BROTHER TO COURT (1 Corinthians
6:4-5)
If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. (5) I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? - 1 Corinthians 6:4-5 |
I recently heard of a church taking it's pastor to court because he would not leave the
parsonage after he was fired. Then a while back, here in Hammond a pastor
was being sued for "alienation of affection" because he won the affection
of a Church member's wife! Then, there was the case of John McArthur being
sued because a man committed suicide after John had counseled him.
Paul said, "I double-dog dare you to take a brother to court, and let the
unjust (unsaved) folks hear us "supposedly" saved folks arguing and fighting over things.
It ought not be so! Look at verse five. Paul said, "I speak this to your SHAME."
Paul said, Isn't there somebody in your Church with enough God and brains in his head to
arbitrate this matter, rather than giving the world an opportunity to say, "look how
those Christians fight and sue each other." Paul does not say,
"shame on the devil," but "SHAME ON
YOU!!"
Why cant you pray, rather than take a brother to court? By taking a
brother to court, you just might make a lost man say, "If that's
what being a Christian is like, I don't want to be be one."
Even if you were wronged by someone, don't you have enough God in you to let
Christ take care of that person for you? Don't you believe that Christ can do that?
If not, "SHAME ON YOU!!"
SHAME ON YOU IF YOU'RE NOT
UNDER SUBJECTION (1 Corinthians 11:1-6)
Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ. (2) Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. (3) But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. (4) Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head. (5) But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. (6) For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered. - 1 Corinthians 11:1-6 |
Now, my friend, these verses are to the man and woman. You see, God has
an order to follow. First Christ, then the man, then the wife. and then the children.
The man is the head of the home, the wife is the heart of the home, and the children are the hope of the home.
Ladies, listen. If your not under subjection to your own husbands, you are
definitely not right with God. Gentlemen, if you let your wives run the house,
you're not right with God! You probably even have lace on your drawers, paint your nails,
and go to the beauty shop to have your hair done! I don't care if you are
a preacher, because all you will have is a puppet in the pulpit, a witch in a ditch, and a mouse in the house!
And, I agree with Paul when he says, "SHAME ON
YOU!!"
Ladies, according to 1 Samuel 15:23, rebellion is the same as witchcraft.
So, I have Scripture that says you are a witch! I also say a Holy Ghost filled woman does not mind
being under subjection! "SHAME ON
YOU!!"
SHAME ON YOU SISSY MEN
(1 Corinthians 11:14)
Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? - 1 Corinthians 11:14 |
Do I need to say any more? One thing I would like to say is that Jesus did not have long hair at all!
AMEN! AMEN!
The great Apostle Paul would have never said it was a shame if the Lord that he loved had long hair.
You say, "Brother Johnny, I saw a picture of Jesus, and I want to be like
Jesus." Well, dummy, if you want to be like Jesus, sell your car,
walk everywhere, or perhaps ride a jackass. Like Paul, I say, if you like long hair,
then "SHAME ON YOU!!"
SHAME ON YOU THAT STUFF YOUR
FACE (1 Corinthians 11:21-22)
For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken. (22) What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. - 1 Corinthians 11:21-22 |
Now, the Baptist slogan is "If they ain't et they ain't met." Another one is "Meat it, eat it, then beat it." One thing I know for certain; Baptists are like roaches. You put food on the table, and they will all show! If you have food on Sunday morning, you will have two hundred in attendance. But, on Sunday night, with no food,. there will be twenty five folks (half of that bunch is just looking for leftovers). So Paul said, "Shame on you because you come drunk and you don't want to share." He also said, "Why do you despise the house of God? Why cant you eat at home?" I personally think this eating ought to be stopped at church. But, the pastors use hot dogs to get folks to come. That's because they know their preaching cant keep them, so they feed them baloney!
SHAME ON YOU THAT SHUN THE POOR (1
Corinthians 11:22)
What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. - 1 Corinthians 11:22 |
When I read this verse I think about how many homecomings and fellowships I've been to,
where I see poor folks drive by while the church folks are stuffing
their fat guts, and never invite them in to share their food. I have seen unchurched kids ride up on their bikes, while
the church was stuffing their faces. Nobody says "Son, would you like to eat with
us?" You say, "Brother Johnny that don't happen. You're
crazy!" Listen! I preach for pastors that tell people not to invite
their friends to their revival services. "Brother Johnny,"
they say, "this is just for our folks only." Jesus said when you have a feast, call the halt, maimed
blind, and the poor. I say that if you don't invite everybody, God help you,
and "SHAME ON YOU!!"
SHAME ON YOU THAT SEEK
TONGUES (1 Corinthians 14:34-35)
Let your women keep
silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they
are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith
the law. (35)
And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for
it is a shame for women to speak in the church. - 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 |
Oh, oh! Lookee here!
Does not Paul say that it is a shame for a woman to speak in church? He is not talking about giving
a testimony, or saying amen! He is talking about this satanic tongues junk that has
deceived multitudes! Iif you took the women out of the tongues movement, you wouldn't have enough people in
pentecostal churches to fill a phone booth! So, Paul says if your wanting a tongues experience,
"SHAME ON YOU!!"
